We would like to offer you a very warm welcome to West Bridgford Social Singers.  We were founded in 1992 and we still have a few of our original members.

Our aims are :

  • To enable members to enjoy the social and emotional benefits of singing in a group.

  • To perform music from a wide repertoire to our local community and beyond.

  • To encourage people from a range of ages to join with us in performing the music.

  • To support our local community by performing at local events and charities.

  • To organise regular and varied social events to enable choir members to get to know each other.

We do not hold auditions as we wish to draw in and support as many people as possible from our local community to join with us and enjoy singing.  We perform to the highest standards possible and trust our members to attend rehearsals regularly, listen carefully to the Musical director and each other.  Other members of the choir will offer help and support.  It may seem confusing at first but if you persevere you will find your confidence grows as will your enjoyment.

An ability to read music is not essential but will obviously help.

We rehearse every Tuesday evening at the Methodist Church hall on Musters Road in West Bridgford from 7.45 to 9.45.  Rehearsals always start with a fun warm-up.  Music is provided and can also be purchased from the choir.
